Meet Our Staff

Ed has been working and selling insurance for over 40 years. He has a comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverages, enabling him to provide his clients with the coverages they need.
As President of Hemp Insurance, Ed strives for his agency to provide courteous, friendly service. He believes in the Golden Rule-treating others as you would want to be treated.

Ed currently enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. He loves spending time with his grandchildren, watching them play sports, gymnastics, dance, and just spending time with them. He is also an assistant Sunday school teach for his Sunday school class. In past, he spent many years coaching numerous children in baseball, basketball and football.

Lynn has been working in the insurance field for 30 years. She enjoys meeting clients and working with them to find the right insurance coverages for their needs. Working with existing clients to maintain their changing insurance needs is part of our daily service.

Being a life- long member of the community, Lynn has been active over the years at church, teaching Sunday school classes, Junior Church, working with the Covington Little League program as a Board member and coach on the first girls softball team. When her children were young, she was active with the PTA program. Most of her spare time now is being involved with her grandchildren.

Michelle has been a licensed insurance agent with Hemp Insurance for over 22 years. Her vast knowledge and understanding of insurance coverages, enable her to provide her clients with insurance to fit their individual needs. She enjoys working with the public and assisting her clients in understand coverages needed and purchased.

Michelle and her husband, Scott have a son and daughter attending the local elementary school. Michelle is active in the school’s PTO, helping coordinate various committees. Michelle also enjoys watching her children play sports and rooting the family’s favorite team, UK Wildcats.

Amanda K Brown made a career switch to the insurance business six years ago and has never doubted the switch. She has always enjoyed helping others and working with the public. As a licensed agent, she gets the opportunity to do this daily and appreciates meeting and working with customers. Amanda is licensed for all personal and commercial lines and is the primary agent for life sales with the agency. As a 2012 graduate of Liberty University with a Masters’s Degree in Professional Counseling, she feels her background in counseling and social work have been a proven asset in helping customers with their insurance needs and during difficult times of loss.

She and her husband reside in the Alleghany Highlands and have one son. She is an active member of a parent teachers association at her son’s school and enjoys volunteering whenever possible. “I like helping other’s and that is what a good agent should want to do first and foremost.”

Lindsay started her insurance career with Hemp Insurance Agency as a receptionist in 2017. In March of 2018, Lindsay obtained her property and casualty insurance license. In 2019, she received her license in life and health insurance.

As a licensed insurance professional, Lindsay enjoys meeting with clients to establish their insurance needs. She not only sells policies but provides information to make sure the client understands their coverages. Lindsay puts strong emphasis on long-term relationships with excellent customer service.

Lindsay graduated from Alleghany High School in 2003 and has been married to her husband, Josh for over 8 years. Her family includes 2 young sons, a stepson, and 2 fur babies. Lindsay enjoys watching the boys play sports and going to UVA sporting events.
